When you do not need a developer
If you are just starting out, a well-chosen Shopify theme and a few days of setup are often enough, and you can do much of it yourself. Bring in a developer when the theme holds you back, when the store is slow, when the app stack has grown out of control, or when you are migrating and cannot afford to lose rankings.
